Tomorrow Never Comes
I am not looking forward to tomorrow I reached my seventy birthday much sooner than I expected.
I was one of the first of the "Baby Boomers" having been born in October 1946.
Post war boom made life livable for the average family, and mine was as average as they came. My father worked the assembly line in an automobile factory and my mother raised the kids.
My adult life was average. I did not discover a new drug, developer a new invention or broker peace anywhere in the world, except maybe in my own family.
Even though I was too young to remember it, the country survived the Korean Conflict. If you remember your history, you will remember that it was never officially declared a war
The Cold War is only a vague memory. The grownups took care of those things while We children were nestled snug in our beds at night with the belief that everything was all right with the world
I am glad that my life expectancy is no more than another twenty years, Give or take a few years.

Then came high school and the “Awakening.” First our president is killed, then his brother, then a man of peace and religion, Dr. Martin Luther King. Then the draft. Many served but many didn’t believe in the cause. There were drugs, free love and demonstrations. Such turmoil and no answers. It was definitely a time of revolts.
THE HORRORS THAT HAPPENED IN MY LIFETIME
· It's been said that "Tomorrow Never Comes”. When you think about it, that is correct.
· Every generations elders think the younger generations will be the the way of the country and we have survived, and maybe we will again, however, there are statistics that can't be ignored.
· The doomsday clock. How many people even knows what that is.
· Our veterans who have fought for our country are forgotten. How sad. The sacrifices they endured to keep us "free", or so they are told.
· Rich taking over the government and the poor are getting poorer.
· Oceans rising, cities sinking.
· Snow melting animals disappearing desserts from once fertile land.
· Our people are divided. You are either conservative or liberal
· Politics. One party government.
· Religion, the hatred and horrible things done in the name of religion
WHAT LIES AHEAD
I have never been a fatalist, however, it is my belief that the future is not bright. There are too many things that can't be undone and we are on a path that can only bring sorrow for this planet. For we are a planet that is getting smaller and tighter and harder to separate. What effects one country, affects a multiple of countries, with a ripple effect.
My life today is comfortable and I have few regrets.
I base my theory on what I have seen over my lifetime and that is all.
I do not want to die but I am ready and am not afraid I accept my mortality
Old age scares me. The government and what it has the power to do scares me.
I understand the difference
